Man, what did you guys think of that game tonight? I thought it was pretty good. Much faster than I expected. Pretty exciting for the most part. I thought Saskatoon played well against what I thought would be a more powerful Winnipeg squad. Cheers to everyone involved in putting on such a good event. And a special pat on the back to all the Sask officials that were involved with the game. Good job everyone!

I thought it was a good fast game and the soccer got better as the night went on. Mark Korthuis and Nikola Vignjevic both played extremly well, as well as Shae O'Hare who I thought had quite the game. Hate to say it, but that first Winnipeg goal might have been the goal of the game, but certainally the pass of the game. That guy thread the needle with that ball. Rules were a bit weird, but I support the concept. I think they're trying to make soccer more accessible, making it a bit more like hockey and other sports in certain ways, such as holding the card in the air for ''delayed cards.'' This way even the unfamiliar fan understands whats happening. Seventeen bucks might be a bit steep for a regular admission price, but I'd pay around ten to go see them play again. Hats off to all of our local officials who took part. Congradulations guys!

It's definitely not traditional soccer. I think they are trying to broaden the appeal to get more fans. Most sports fans here like hockey, which is why we see the combination soccer/hockey rules. Although I love the traditional game, I like this idea (particularly the idea of more offence ie 3 point line). Hopefully it works out.
